the first time i did something i was genuinely proud of and didn't immediately look around to see if anyone noticed was a weird feeling. like i'd been waiting for external confirmation my whole life and then one day i just... didn't need it. i still wanted it. but i didn't need it. that's the whole difference and i can't fully explain how it happened no really
