flew home to visit after two years and the city has changed in ways i expected and ways i didn't. new buildings where things used to be. the restaurant we always went to replaced by something else. some of my friends have moved. some have bought houses. some are unrecognizable from the outside in ways that are mostly good. i had a specific relationship to this place and i came back to find it had kept going without me lmao
