my friend called me out on something last month. not harshly. with care. she said 'i love you and i need to tell you something true.' and she told me something true that i needed to hear and hadn't been able to say to myself. it required courage on her part. it cost me something to receive it. i'm grateful for it in a way that sits in my chest when i think about her
